Savoury Herb Shrimp Paella

  • 1 pkg (170 g) UNCLE BEN’S® Rice & Grains Basmati Medley, Savoury Herb
    2 tbsp (30 mL) vegetable oil
    1 small onion, diced small
    1 tsp (5 mL) salt
    2 ¼ cups (560 mL) water
    1 cup (250 mL) (1 medium or 2 roma tomatoes)
    1 pound (450 g) peeled and deveined shrimp
    2 tbsp (30 mL) butter
    1 Lemon, juiced
    ½ cup (125 mL) Chopped parsley


  •  Heat oil in sauté pan and add onion and salt. Sauté until onion is soft and golden.
  • Add in rice and seasoning pouch and stir to combine. Add in tomato and water and mix well.
  • Bring mixture to a boil, cover and simmer on low heat for 20-25 minutes until most of the water is absorbed.
  • Add in butter and shrimp. Cover and simmer an additional 3-5 minutes until shrimp are cooked.
  • Stir in lemon juice and parsley.
  • Mix well and serve.
